Mmmm... your colouring works for the shield, but not the other stuff. U use black for shading (or different scales of grey?) Try using purple/indigo hues unless you wanted the sharp contrast (in which case I would ditch the airbrush) Beh, I'm not the best colourist myself, but there are some really nice tuts out there

Thanks. Yeah, I'm happy with the shield but not so much the rest. I used shades of grey on a layer set to multiply. Got that off a tutorial too. I think your undersanding of colour is probably way better than mine and I think you're right.

Sir, I for one am in complete admiration of this piece. I think that the digital colouring is just stunning. The shading and blending on his outfit, and the background -- all so...so...awesome! Personally, I think the black/grey shading on his outfit works just fine. Of course, I'm no colour expert either, particularly when it comes to digital colouring, but you know what? I think it's awesome nonetheless.
P.S. Not to start up something completely off topic, but I finished Seasons One and Two of JLU a little while back. And yes, I love that show, utterly and completely. I think my favourite characters, outside of the founding seven, are Question, Vixen, Atom Smasher, Vigilante, Booster Gold, and Elongated Man. And Skeets! (I hope I spelled that correctly.)

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
